The details of the extra-marital affair of Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott story can be sold to the highest bidding newspaper at the going rate of a hundred large.

There were rumours that Barrie Williams, Miss Temple’s boyfriend, had made at least £100,000 from selling the story to the Daily Mirror and that, despite the affair, the pair were very much still a couple and in hiding abroad.

I’m not sure what’s more distasteful. The thought of ‘Two-Shags’ banging his Diary Secretary on the office sofa while his aides are in the next room working or finding myself interested in the story of an MP, his secretary and her pimping boyfriend. Singing the refrain from the old Police song at the top of my voice helps to shake off the feeling.
